Workshops
Sometimes getting facts and brochures isn't enough to answer your questions or cool your nerves. That's why we offer Queen's Students lots of engaging workshops to help deal with your concerns in a much more intimate setting.
So now you are probably asking "How do I sign up for a workshop?" Here's how:
To register for workshops, go toQueen's Learning Commons
and click on "Workshop Registration" on the left hand side.
Our workshops vary in content and range from general topics such as "Making the Grade" to more specific ones such as "Studying for Multiple Choice Exams". Workshops are also context sensitive, meaning we try to schedule our "Midterm Preparation" workshop before midterms and our "How to Research an Essay" workshop at the begining of the semester to give you the skills you need for your first essay.
Our workshops are lead by one of our Experts accompanied by members of the PLA Team. This tandem approach is one of the reasons why our workshops are so popular. You get advice and proven study techniques from Learning Strategy Professionals plus you get insight and inside information from students who've been in your shoes.
If you want to see what the workshops schedule looks like across the course of the year. Check out our workshop schedule here.
*** Some workshops cost $2 for materials. But believe us... it's well worth it! ***
